French secret service memo claims Bin Laden dead.

Al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden accused moderate Arab leaders of plotting with the West against Muslims and urged his followers to prepare for jihad (holy war), in a recording aired by Al Jazeera television.

It is clear that some Arab leaders have plotted with the Zionist-crusader coalition against our (Muslim) people, these (Arab countries) the United States calls the moderate states,” bin Laden said, without naming any of the leaders.

&quotWe must seriously work and prepare for jihad to enforce the right and abolish the wrong,” bin Laden said in the audio recording that was aired on Saturday.

Bin Laden, who made a similar call for jihad on January 14, described Israel’s offensive in Gaza and its attacks on the Palestinian territory as a &quotholocaust” and said militants wanting to help Gazans should support Iraqis fighting U.S.-led forces and Baghdad’s government.

On March 11, Alex broke the story of the Missouri Information Analysis Center (MIAC) releasing a report designating supporters of presidential candidates Ron Paul, Chuck Baldwin, and Bob Barr as “militia” influenced terrorists. After the story was posted on Infowars, many people posted comments indicating they didn’t believe the report was legitimate, that it was fake, or Alex made it up. In the audio clip here from Alex’s radio show on March 12, Alex addresses these comments and the inability of people to believe the story.

U.S. Army PSYOP: Push FARC into Venezuela

Posted on 12 March 2009 by Congress Check

    Eva Golinger
    Axis of Logic
    March 12, 2009

A secret document of the US Army National Ground Intelligence Center, recently declassified in part, through the application of the US Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), confirms that the Pentagon’s most powerful team for psychological operations is employing its forces against Venezuela.1 The document, dating from the year 2006, analyses the border situation between Colombia and Venezuela. It was drafted by the US Army’s 4th Psychological Operations Group (Airborne) (4th PSYOP Group (A) or 4th POG) and the US Army National Ground Intelligence Center, a fact that thus reaffirms that the same psychological warfare team operates in the region against Venezuela.

The small part of the text of the secret document which was left uncensored explains how the Plan Patriot (previously known as Plan Colombia) has successfully pushed the activities of the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia ((FARC), Fuerzas Armadas Revolucionarias de Colombia) into Venezuelan territory. It is explicitly being emphasized in the secret document that

“…the offensive operations of Plan Patriot and its counterparts of the Colombian military have had an important impact on the activities of the Eastern Bloc [of the FARC]…due to the success achieved against some fronts of the Eastern Bloc in Colombia, several fronts of the Eastern Bloc are conducting more combat and regenerated their activities at the Colombian-Venezuelan border. The Mini-Blocs in the Llanos and the eastern zone… have assumed distinct strategic roles in response to the Plan Patriot 2B…”

The arrival of the US Army’s 4th Psychological Operations Group (Airborne) in Colombia in the year 2006 and the strategy of pushing the FARC and the Colombian civil conflict into Venezuelan territory cannot be taken as a coincidence for it is exactly the moment when the US State Department and the Pentagon also started to publicly accuse Venezuela of collaborating with terrorism, specifically by referring to alleged dealings with the FARC. In the first semester of 2006 Washington added Venezuela to a list of “countries that do not fully collaborate in the struggle against terrorism”, and then imposed sanctions against the South American country that resulted in the prohibition of the sales of arms from the United States and from any international company that uses US technology. The 2006 report of the US State Department said,

“The Secretary of State certified Venezuela as “not fully cooperating” with U.S. antiterrorism efforts… It remained unclear to what extent the Government of Venezuela provided material support to Colombian terrorists, if it did, and on which level…” (Report of the US State Department of 2006, available at www.state.gov)2

A few months later, in July 2006, the United States House Foreign Affairs Subcommittee on International Terrorism and Nonproliferation, held a hearing titled “Venezuela: Terrorism Hub of South America?”, in which they declared that

“Venezuela, under President Hugo Chavez, has tolerated terrorists on its soil and has forged close relationships with officially designated state sponsors of terrorism: Cuba, Iran and North Korea. Colombian terrorist groups use Venezuelan territory for safe haven…”.3

At the same time, the international press started to promote a matrix of opinion, associating Venezuela with terrorism. Articles and editorials published by the Washington Post, the New York Times, the Washington Times, the Wall Street Journal, El País of Spain, El Tiempo of Bogota, and the Miami Herald, amongst others, repeated time and again [affirmations about] the alleged link between the Venezuelan government and the FARC in Colombia, although they never provided any conclusive proof. All the evidences were based on “anonymous” sources, “high-level officials in Washington”, and “analysts”, without giving any concrete names, data or facts.

Terrorist watch list hits 1 million

Posted on 11 March 2009 by Congress Check

    USA Today
    March 11, 2009

WASHINGTON — The government’s terrorist watch list has hit 1 million entries, up 32% since 2007.

Federal data show the rise comes despite the removal of 33,000 entries last year by the FBI’s Terrorist Screening Center in an effort to purge the list of outdated information and remove people cleared in investigations.

It’s unclear how many individuals those 33,000 records represent — the center often uses multiple entries, or “identities,” for a person to reflect variances in name spellings or other identifying information. The remaining million entries represent about 400,000 individuals, according to the center.

The new figures were provided by the screening center and the Office of the Director of National Intelligence in response to requests from USA TODAY.

“We’re continually trying to improve the quality of the information,” says Timothy Edgar, a civil liberties officer at the intelligence director’s office. “It’s always going to be a work in progress.”

Biden Urges NATO Allies to Help Tackle Problems in Afghanistan

Posted on 10 March 2009 by Congress Check

    Deutsche Welle
    March 10, 2009

US Vice President Joe Biden told NATO that the situation in Afghanistan was a threat to the West as a whole.

“The deteriorating situation in the region poses a security threat not just to the United States but to every single nation round this table,” Biden told representatives of the 26-nation military alliance during a visit to Brussels on Tuesday, March 10.

“It was from the very same mountains that the attacks of 9/11 were planned,” he said, adding that NATO should seek “pragmatic solutions” to its war in Afghanistan.

Biden said options included direct talks with moderate factions of the Taliban, most of whom are only involved in the insurgency for the money.

“We are not now winning the war, but the war is far from lost,” Biden told a news conference after three hours of talks.

Afghan President Hamid Karzai said his government had long supported dialogue with those members of the Taliban, who are not connected with “terrorists.”

Obama Hater Had Materials for “Dirty Bomb”

Posted on 10 March 2009 by Congress Check

    Infowars
    March 10, 2009

Forget white al-Qaeda, sleeper cells of deranged jihadists, and violent Ron Paul supporters of the sort Glenn Beck warned us about — the latest enemy now surfacing in the media was a trust fund millionaire, a Nazi sympathizer, and an Obama hater who supposedly planned to build a dirty bomb.

war-on-terror - Obama Hater Had Materials for Dirty Bomb
Belfast, Maine, Police Chief admits the materials found in James G. Cummings II’s house posed no threat.

Lt. Rusty Noe of the Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office told the Bangor Daily News in Maine that James G. Cummings II “was a white supremacist with a cache of radioactive materials and directions for building a dirty bomb in his Belfast home.” It is not known what the trust fund baby planned to do with this material, not that it matters now — he was killed last December by his wife.

Cummings’ wife “indicated James was very upset with Barack Obama being elected President,” an FBI field intelligence report from the Washington Regional Threat and Analysis Center and posted on the WikiLeaks website reveals. “She indicated James had been in contact with ‘white supremacist group(s),” writes Stephen C. Webster for Raw Story. “Also found was literature on how to build ‘dirty bombs’ and information about cesium-137, strontium-90 and cobalt-60, radioactive materials.” According to Belfast police, the materials posed no threat to the community and were not of sufficient quantity to build an effective “dirty bomb.”

“If low-level radioactive sources were to be used, the primary danger from a dirty bomb would be the blast itself,” explains the National Terror Alert website. “Gauging how much radiation might be present is difficult when the source of the radiation is unknown. However, at the levels created by most probable sources, not enough radiation would be present in a dirty bomb to cause severe illness from exposure to radiation.”

An image of a nuclear bomb detonating accompanies the Raw Story, giving the impression that an alleged Nazi sympathizer and Obama hater had in his possession materials to construct a dangerous device.
