In the latest incident of civilian deaths at the hand of foreign forces in Afghanistan, US-led troops have killed three more people during a raid in east of the country.

The incident happened in the troubled eastern province of Nangarhar where the US troops have lost several grounds to the insurgents in recent months.

Three civilians were also detained during the raid which enraged the people across the war-ravaged country.

The foreign forces in the country have yet to comment on the incident.

Presstv-V has learned the dead were related, and included two policemen as well.

Tribal elders are to decide whether to bury the victims or put them on display on a road in the area to protest the attack.

Operations led by foreign forces have repeatedly resulted in the death of Afghan civilians.

The issue has angered both the Afghan public and the Kabul government.

Afghan officials have repeatedly condemned deadly US-led raids, and urged an end to them.

The incident comes days after an overnight US-led airstrike killed four members of a family, including three children, in Kandahar province.

Civilians have been the main victims of violence in Afghanistan, particularly in the troubled southern and eastern provinces.

The number of Afghan civilians killed either in US-led airstrikes or Taliban attacks has surpassed 1,000 in the first half of 2009, according to the UN.
